Welcome

Thank you for your interest in Associated Merseyside Partnership School-Centred Initial Teacher Training (AMP SCITT). I am the Head of SCITT and I’m passionate about coaching and development to enable the progression of new and experienced teachers.

AMP SCITT is a strong and collaborative partnership of schools and colleges delivering school-led teacher training in the Liverpool City Region and at our Greater Manchester hub in Ashton-under-Lyne.

AMP SCITT has an excellent training and employment record and many past trainees have secured leadership positions in their employing schools within five years.

Our wide variety of partner schools is a major partnership strength with trainees offered teaching experiences in two contrasting placements. Our schools include academies, mixed and single sex comprehensives, faith schools, sixth form colleges and Special schools. Our partner schools are engaged throughout a trainee’s journey to become an excellent teacher, from interview to the award of QTS. Many of our schools also provide the expert practitioners who deliver our subject specific training. The benefits of working with AMP SCITT for initial teacher training include professional development and retention of staff, recruitment of high quality new teachers and competitive placement fees. Our trainees are supported by a team of experienced and effective teachers who understand the needs of developing teachers and their mentors and incorporate the latest educational research into the programme. Based at our training centre, the Lydiate Learning Trust Academy of Teacher Education, our teacher educator team also deliver programmes for Rainbow Teaching School Hub and Best Practice Network. We host Early Career Framework training for mentors and new teachers plus we deliver a range of National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). Additionally, to promote the teaching profession and all that a career in education has to offer we run Tomorrow’s Teachers programmes for sixth form students and STEM and Languages internships for undergraduates considering teaching.

We are proud to engage, enable and empower both new and experienced teachers. Through our professional development opportunities, we provide career long learning but most importantly, as part of Lydiate Learning Trust, we are delighted to see our training make a positive impact on the quality of education that pupils across the North West receive.
