AMP SCITT SKE Programme for 2025/26 fully subscribed

The Subject Knowledge Enhancement (SKE) programme at AMP SCITT has reached full capacity for the 2025 academic year, reflecting the growing demand for high-quality preparation in key teaching subjects.

Designed for aspiring teachers who need to strengthen their subject knowledge before beginning Initial Teacher Training, the SKE programme offers intensive, tailored courses in shortage subjects such as Chemistry, Physics, Computing, Mathematics, and Modern Foreign Languages. These courses are fully funded by the Department for Education and are a vital stepping stone for many trainees entering the profession.

Alison Brady, Head of SCITT, said: “We’re delighted to see such strong interest in our SKE courses. These programmes are essential for ensuring trainees from across England feel confident and well-prepared to teach their chosen subjects. The enthusiasm and commitment from this year’s cohort has been outstanding.”

The SKE courses are delivered flexibly, allowing participants to study online or in blended formats while receiving expert support from experienced subject specialists. Many of this year’s participants have already secured places on AMP SCITT’s teacher training programme or with partner providers across the region.

With all places now filled, AMP SCITT continues to play a key role in addressing subject shortages and supporting the development of future educators.

Applications will reopen for the 2026/27 cohort in Autumn 2025.
