There are three types of funding available. Depending on circumstances, you could receive all three:
1. Tax-free bursary or Scholarships (See below for further details)
2. Tuition Fee Loan and Maintenance Loan (awarded from Student Finance England)
3. Additional finance help if you are a parent, have an adult dependant or have a disability
Bursaries for teacher training are available for eligible graduates who are starting their training in the 2024/25 academic year on non-salaried postgraduate routes for the following subjects:
Modern Foreign Languages
If you do not have a degree in the subject you wish to teach, courses may be available to increase your subject knowledge prior to teacher training. Click here to read about our Subject Knowledge Enhancement courses.
Scholarships of up to £30,000 are available in selected subjects for trainees who are starting their training in the 2024/25 academic year. These prestigious awards are aimed at high-quality graduates with a 2:1 or first-class degree, who are passionate about their subject and have the potential to be inspirational teachers.
