The Big Classroom Liverpool: Practical CPD for Teachers

LLT and AMP SCITT are hosting The Big Classroom in Liverpool on Thursday 14th May, Tom Sherrington’s only event in the city this year. Tim, former headteacher and author of Teaching WalkThrus, is recognised for translating evidence-based teaching research into practical strategies that make a real difference in the classroom.

Alison Brady, Head of AMPS SCITT, says: “We are thrilled to welcome Tom to Liverpool. This event offers teachers at every stage the chance to see proven strategies modelled live and to practise them with feedback. It’s CPD that goes beyond theory and truly supports professional growth.”

The event will guide participants through a selection of high-impact teaching techniques, showing not just what works, but why it works. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies, increased confidence, and a clearer framework for improving classroom practice.

Tom Sherrington added: “Evidence‑informed teaching has to be built around each teacher’s personality and desire for autonomy. The Big Classroom is designed to give teachers the tools to refine their craft and make an immediate impact in their classrooms.” (NB: taken from actual quotes)

This day is suitable for early career teachers, experienced practitioners, and school leaders. Spaces are limited, and bookings can be made via Eventbrite:
